About LifeSkills Counseling Center
Ellen serves as the director and primary therapist. Her particular focus is in addictions and addictions-related issues including co-dependency and family dynamics, as well as domestic violence. She received a BSW from UNCG, a master's degree in addictions counseling from ASU, and has more than 20 years experience as a counselor.
Vanessa facilitates groups in both English and Spanish. An immigrant from El Salvador, she oversees the Spanish programs at LifeSkills and is responsible for designing curriculum that will adequately address the needs of our Hispanic population.

LifeSkills Counseling Center was established in 1989. Lifeskills started in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Steve Moore Counseling in Lexington, North Carolina later became a part of LifeSkills.
Ellen Elliott became the Chief Executive in 2002, merging Steve Moore Counseling and LifeSkills Counseling Center.
